Mobilize Your Next Event with Xomo App

If you're anything like me, I hate carrying out event information. What I don't mind carrying around is my smartphone. It would be cool if a developer created event apps that are easy for organizers to customize and easy for attendees to use. That developer is Xomo and they have announced the Spotlight app beta that lets event organizers create feature-rich native event guides for smartphone users in minutes and at no cost.
If you are at all familiar with the official app for SXSW, then you have already seem some of Xomo's work. Even though SouthBy is one of the more popular (and larger) conferences in the country, the creators want to make Spotlight feasible for organizers whether they have 20,000 or just 20 attendees. Currently in beta for private organizers, the Spotlight app includes a location-aware schedule, maps, speaker profiles and social media integration, and organizers are able to include branding for their event.
Once organizers set up and populate their event guides, the app can be used be attendees offline, so they don't need a data/network connection to use the app. Speaking of native, the app will initially available for (you guessed it) iOS devices, but will soon include Android and a mobile website.
Spotlight's aim is to keep the app free (without ads) for organizers and attendees, but the really cool stuff that organizers can do to make the app really shine (like let organizers give event sponsors ad placement options and password protection for attendee event schedules) will be done via premium feature options.
If you're an event organizer, you can visit the Spotlight Beta website to express interest in the beta.
